Module 5 - Domestic Electrical Fundamentals

This module covers the fundamentals of electrical installation in a domestic environment.

This module covers the following aspects –

– Understanding the different earthing arrangements encountered and the different types of earthing conductor used.

– Principles of circuit design including diversity, discrimination and protective device selection.

– Domestic circuit arrangement including standard circuit arrangements, lighting and switching design and power circuits.

– Types of cables and containment and where used.

– Fire alarms, emergency lighting and security systems.
